Often times, when we start to learn about things we can use to make our work and lives better, we focus primarily on the technical aspects and put little attention to the more human side of things.
In my experience so far, learning a new project management framework is a good example. You start to dive into the terms, the processes, the flows, the order, the good things, the bad, and the list goes on. However, all these things are done by the most important entity of it all, us, humans. Human psychology must surely play a crucial role in how projects are managed. At least, that’s my opinion anyway, because we are not robots, obviously.
I found two interesting articles on this subject. On published by IBM called Psychology And Project Management and the other, Complex project management towards a theory of cognition for ill-structured tasks, done by the Project Management Institute itself. The latter has quite a scientific approach to it. According to some information I got from these two articles is that each individual has their own unique style of managing things, as everybody shares a slightly different perception on things and everybody is sensitive to things in their own unique ways. This is also why management projects properly can be difficult at times because the psychological side of us determines greatly which direction will take and which steps we won’t take when managing projects.
